How Early Intervention Can Change Lives
A Vital Program Benefitting First Time Mothers and Their Babies
“I learned to take it easy, to be calm with my baby, to try to understand her talking to me. I learned to not give up my dreams and to stay in school. I love being a mom and having someone who loves and looks up to me, and I love her back. The Nurse-Family Partnership program helped keep me healthy and smart.”
Sara Klingner, NFP program manager, gets notes like this from many of the hundreds of first time moms who have graduated in the 10 years since the local program of this national protocol to improve the health of moms and babies began.
Following our 6 pm potluck supper, Sara will share many stories - some heart-breaking or humorous, all inspiring about the people - the clients and dedicated nurses - who are the NFP of the Visiting Nurse Association of St. Luke’s.
One NFP nurse wrote, “Why do I love this job? It’s because I share my talents with so many moms who would not have the chance to learn how to function in the world and follow their heart’s desire of becoming the best mother she can.”
We guarantee this is one meeting you do NOT want to miss.
We thank Paperback I for providing hospitality. Friends and spouses welcome. Return the reservation form on Page Four to Joanne Wagner by September 9.
